Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own violin before starting?

Violins are not required for students who do not know how to read music. However, if you are an intermediate or advanced studen it is required.

What happens in the first lesson?

The first lesson is always a free consultation, your child and I meet and discuss their goals and learning styles. This allows me to asses skills and create a lesson plan!

How often should my child take lessons?

Lessons are recommended twice a week, and for concert or audition prep thrice per week.

What if my child is a complete beginner?

That’s perfectly fine, Mini Mozart is designed specifically for beginners with no experience.

What if we need to miss a lesson?

Life happens! When communicated in advance 24 hours for non emergencies makeup days may be possible. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full and are eligible for a makeup. However if multiple lessons are missed with no communication no makeups will be offered.

No-shows will also be charged in full.

What if my child is shy or nervous?

That is completely normal. I have over 2 years of experience with children aged 4-12. I also worked a asgirl scouts counselor. Lessons are paced according to each child's comfort level, with the goal of creating a positive and encouraging environment where they can build confidence.
